You Need to Hear This Now: The Connection – Seven Nights to Rock

One of my must listens on a daily basis is Little Steven’s Underground Garage station on Sirius FM (it was the main reason I got satellite radio in the first place). One feature I really enjoy is the coolest song of the week. Well this week’s coolest song is so exceptionally good I just have to share. It is by a band called the Connection, whom I had not heard of until this week. Here is a link to their video for this week’s coolest song, Seven Nights to Rock:

This is a band to watch. I especially love the drumming and the wild piano on this song.

If you love this song please support the musicians and get their EP. You can get it here:

Let me know what you think of these guys. They are ones to watch for sure!

Help!! I Love Garage Rock and Need a Cool Magazine to Read! Shindig Magazine to the Rescue

I love reading about music. I try to always keep up with what is new as well as discovering old things I’ve missed via music magazines. The best music magazines, IMO, are British. My main must read magazine is Mojo. They always have interesting articles that encompasses a large genre of new and old music (60′s rock, blues, britpop, soul, etc.) You also get a great compilation CD with each purchase, which makes the $10.00 USD price a bit easier to take. As much as I love Mojo, it sometimes leaves me wanting more in the underground garage rock dept. Well fear not, I recently discovered Shindig magazine it has all your garage rock needs covered. First, yes, it is British (and has a uber groovy name). Second, it covers all different genres of garage rock (freakbeat, psychedelic, etc.). Third, and this is very exciting for me, it is available as a digital subscription through Zinio (at least in the US). I have been trying to go digital only with as many of my magazines as I possibly can. I highly recommend this magazine if you are a garage rock fan. Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments.

New Wet and Wild Magnetic Polish Spotted at Walgreens

I popped down to Walgreens at lunch to pick up a few things and noticed the new Wet and Wild magnetic nail polish. I passed on these as they did not really speak to me, but I did take a picture of the purple color:

If you are wanting to try out a magnetic polish at $4.99 these are definitely budget friendly. If anyone has tried these let me know what you think of them.

Codeacademy Just Added Python

One of my favorite sites for self-directed technical learning is Codeacademy. If you are not familiar they have fun classes on Javascript, HTML, CSS, etc. You can also learn with your friends which is a lot of fun. I just received an email update from them that they have added Python. I can hardly wait to start the classes.

The Android Team Now Has an Official Blog

The Android team now has an official blog. This is very exciting if you like to keep up with all things Android, as I do. I always love reading the blogs of the developers over at the Googleplex.

Can a Nail Polish Remover Change Your Life? Oh Yes it Can!!

One of the things I hate most in the world is removing my nail polish. Because I like to more often than not wear polish that either has a foil finish or some sort of glitter it used to literally take me 15 minutes or more plus too many cotton pads to count to remove my polish. Well those days are gone thanks to the brilliant Zoya Remove Plus Nail Polish Remover. I can now remove my nail polish in 5 minutes or less with two cotton pads. That might not sound like a big deal, but for me it really is. This not a new product but it is new to me. As long as I polish my nails I will never be without this. You can purchase it directly from Zoya. Locally I picked this up at Whole Foods. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed!
